jb_invaderrulez [Alpha Stage]

    So me being the engineer and all, I have interest in making CS:GO maps, and have started getting into it for a while now. Noting this, I have started a project called jb_invaderrulez. I am not at my setup right now, so I cannot display pictures at the moment, but I can showcase some things I have made over the weekend so far.

    Without these pictures I can state what I have made so far:
    • Cell Block
    • Armory
    • Breakfloor minigame (I have just began making and testing minigames)
    • Secrets
    • Overall Structure +60% (Foundations)
    Again I have only worked on this for about two days, and have been planning new ideas for minigames and such, so expect for to come.

    So I worked a bit on the map today and configured some things, as well as added a new minigame!

    It works very well, and I will update the minigame to have different speed options too. Other than that, I have changed the floor to a nice black brick texture so the floor doesnt match the walls. The video isnt as choppy this time and should run well. The next minigame I plan to add is Dropdown if anything.

    I enjoy the bad textures because they remind me of CS:S, good times.

    I dont have any custom textures, and I just use random textures for the colors that I want, such as the start buttons being grass. Though it doesnt look too bad to me.

    It's useful to use de textures while making the map so it is easier to texture the maps tee on

    So I was working on the map for a couple hours now, and I am also proud to present the new minigame!

    DROPDOWN

    This one needs some explaining as the design might seem a bit weird. The transparent areas of the build are actually one way windows for the CT's to use to make sure no T's are delaying. Also in the video I didn't show that you can die from hitting the ground in Dropdown. The pool in which the winners are teleported to is nice because the CT's can have them AFK freeze on completion and they are all in one spot, yet without eyes on the T's they can try to run. The elevator is also really cool, as I am trying to functions in Hammer.

    The next minigame I will work on shall be Race!

    RACE

    This race is pretty tough to be honest, yet is very fun because of this exactly. The stress of racing head to head on a hard course makes for some insane scenarios such as people messing up at the finish, and neck to neck situations. The winners teleport to the same pool as Dropdown, so the CT's can make a beacon next to it if they want a certain amount of T's to live.

    As demonstrated in the video, the floor teleport's the user back to certain checkpoints, making the course easier. The design is simple and compact, allowing the room to be used for more games, and such. I really hope you guys enjoy the map progress so far, and I plan to work on it more this week/weekend when I have time.

    The lighting is bad, but I am not done with it yet, and use basic lights just to clear the way for minigame demo's, so dont worry about that.

    I was thinking of doing that, and I will probably do it next time. I just like to have the thread updated to let the people know that I am working on it still.
